Four-lane highway from Gurugram to Jhajjar, fast access to Delhi-Jaipur and Gurugram-Rewari highways

Haryana has approved ₹555.83 crore to four-lane the ~26 km Bilaspur–Kulana road, along with a flyover at Pataudi and a widened railway overbridge at Heli Mandi, built to national highway standards.

Haryana is taking a major step towards strengthening its road network, with several two-lane roads being upgraded to four lanes. A new four-lane road is set to come up in the state, and its Detailed Project Report (DPR) has already been prepared. The road from Bilaspur in Gurugram to Kulana in Jhajjar will be four-laned. Upgrading the roughly 26 km two-lane stretch between Bilaspur and Kulana to four lanes will make journeys on the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway and the Gurugram-Rewari highway much easier.

Four-lane road to be built with ₹555.83 crore

The road is currently two lanes and carries heavy traffic pressure. Once four lanes are ready, vehicles are expected to move at speed and the traffic load should ease. Land will be acquired for the project. The plan includes building a flyover in Pataudi town and widening the existing two-lane railway overbridge at Heli Mandi — located at railway crossing number 45-A — into four lanes. The government has approved a total of ₹555.83 crore for this four-lane road project.

Bilaspur to Kulana road will be four-laned

According to Public Works Minister Ranbir Gangwa, the four-lane road will be extended from Bilaspur to Kulana, including four-laning of Pataudi town's flyover and the railway overbridge at Heli Mandi. The four-lane will be built on the lines of a national highway, so vehicles will be able to run without obstruction and travel time will fall. The upgrade will directly benefit ordinary people along with traders and farmers, and will further improve connectivity between Gurugram and Jhajjar.

Overbridge at Heli Mandi will be four-laned

In 2023, local residents and traders had opposed the decision on the Heli Mandi overbridge and were against the road widening, fearing their houses and shops would be affected. At the time, the local MLA had assured them that no additional overbridge would be built there and that traders would be consulted during land acquisition. That approval has now been granted, and the two-lane overbridge has been cleared to become four lanes. How long the land acquisition will take is not yet clear.
